"Waiting...."

I catch an Ellie Rose school bus every morning and afternoon to get to school and get home. I understand that i am fontunate to have this service, but at times the buses are very unreliable. For instance: A few weeks ago i was waiting at the bus stop for over an hour and a half in the cold, before hearing from school i might as well had go home. I understand that there can be technical problems and such but there are more incidents than this. A few days ago i waited at the bus stop for around an hour and 40 minutes in what i believe was -7*c or so, before luckily being taken to school by my friend's dad (both my parents were at work). The following day i waited at the stop for over an hour yet again in even colder temperatures before ringing school and being told to go home for my own safety. After waiting at the stop for these periods of time in the snow my feet became very cold and damp and now my toes are sore. However, it is not just the fact that they are late, the buses themselves are cold and damp. This is understandable in the cold weather, but the buses dont have heating or heaters inside them (well none that i can find), so it is only slightly warmer than outside mainly because of shared body heat and the lack of windchill. As well as this, water easily gets through the windows, making the sides wet and one side of the seats wet (me and my friend who i usualy sit next to take turns sitting by the window and getting a cold,wet left arm). Also, during the icey weather, water that got through the windows sometimes froze on the floor, making it slippery inside the bus itself.

I can understand that during the cold snap that it may be difficult for buses to operate, but whilst waiting, i saw numerous other buses from different companies pass by. I know i am lucky to be able to get to school this way, but i wish the buses were more reliable, warm and modern (the ones at present are old and prone to breaking down).

Overall, the service is normally ok, and i get to school safely, but at times it can be awful.

On a positive note; The bus drivers are usualy pretty awesome. .
